About Me

Hello!

Thanks for visiting my blog, singledevotion!

Here are a few things about me:

What anchors my life . . .

My relationship with God is the most important aspect of my life. At age twenty I made the decision to give Jesus first place in my heart. Now, decades later, I can trace God’s faithfulness and love through every season of my life.

Like you, my journey has not been without disappointment, trials and questions. But in my moments of struggle, it always comes back to a salient moment in college when I sensed God whispering to my heart, “Do you trust me?” (At the time it was about the issue of marriage–but the query has much more universal implications.) Yes, Lord. Yes. And still, Yes.

My reason for blogging . . .

The writer in me emerged when I was just a child, and began to blossom in my younger adult years with several opportunities to be published. However, for about 15 years or so the writer in me went “silent” — (except for professional writing at work, etc.) During the summer of 2014, God began to fan the flame of inspirational writing in me again . . .and I was able to begin publishing immediately through the world of blogging!

Even more importantly, I started singledevotion because I believe we need each other’s encouragement as we live out our unique divinely inspired purposes (whether single or married). We need to know that we’re not alone in our struggles, fears and dreams. And most of all, we need to be reminded that our Creator is passionately in love with us–and we can trust His plan for our lives.

My day job and other life tidbits . . .

I currently work in higher education. Previously, my career path included almost a decade in human resources/risk management in a government setting and sixteen years serving in faith-based ministries (a school, camp & conference center, and publishing company).

This blog is dedicated to my parents in heaven, whose love, integrity and faith will always inspire me.

Blessings on you!

Jane

  1. Jane,
What nice thoughts and comments about grieving and about your dad. He was such a nice person and brother-in-law (by marriage). If we do not have God in our lives to guide us and bless us where would we be? –I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phillipians 4:13). πŸ™πŸ» πŸ™πŸ»
